Several years ago I chrocheted this afghan.  We never used it and it was just stored in a closet. Today it was donated to Goodwill.  It was much fun to create but I don't need it.  Hopefully it will find a good home!

Blue Shutter's Beach, Rhode Island

We spent the day at the beach yesterday.  A hot day, but the ocean breezes made the day all the more bearable.  Our homestead for the day.

This weekend's dessert was a strawberry mousse cake.

Hello Spring

Spring is finally here...

Banana Cake

Banana cake with cream cheese frosting.  The recipe called for a method I never used to keep the cake moist - take cake out of the oven and place directly into freezer for 45 minutes before taking it out of the pan - and it was moist!

Pistachio Cake

OK, this cake isn't made from scratch and it is kind of junky, but it is soooooo gooooood!

Ingredients

1 package yellow cake mix

1 package instant pistachio pudding mix

4 eggs

1 1/2 cups water

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

7 drops green food coloring

1st Snow Storm of 2013

In total we had around 2 feet of snow.  What was nice was that it happened on a Friday night into Saturday.  I didn't have to go anywhere.  Even if I did, I wouldn't have been able to get there!

I took the time to work on my son's quilt.  I wasn't really in the mood, but I forced myself and am happy that I did.  Hopefully by next weekend it will be done.
