Felted Bag & Book

I have made several felted bags.  They are so easy and so much fun to make.  The best part is seeing the finished product once it has been felted.

Is it a Photograph?

No, it's cross stitch.  This is the face of Michelangelo's 17ft marble statue of David that he sculpted in 1504 and stands in Florence, Italy.

First and Last?

I'm not quite sure.  This is my first pair of socks.  They turned out ok.   I bought yarn for another pair, but just haven't had the desire to start them yet.

N.Y.C.

Went to New York City yesterday - a day after a massive snow storm.  There was still a lot of snow, but it was mostly just slushy & messy.

Our destination was the New York Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center.
This is what the inside looks like.  Pictures are prohibited, but I took some without using the flash.

Large Swarovski chandeliers are suspended from the ceiling.  The picture does not capture just how exquisite they really are.

This is what we went to see.

After the opera we headed to 23rd Street and ate at a Spanish restaurant El Quijote.http://elquijoterestaurant.com//
The food was fabulous!
Then I was chauffeured home!

Well, not really - I took the train.

An Angelic Day

What can you make with some wire, safety pins, beads, wooden heads, crowns and pliers?

How about some adorable angels?

A guy I used to work with made these and he also made bells using different beads.  His grandmother had shown him how to make them and he in turn showed me.  Each one takes about 1/2 hour to make.  I use an assembly line type of method when I make these.  I make all the skirts first and then the wings and arms, etc.  It is much more efficient that way.  If you hang them a Christmas tree and put a white light under their skirt, they really light up.  They are also nice to put on presents with ribbons instead of the common bow.
