Soon to be Full

I work close to the Connecticut shoreline.  Yesterday at lunch I walked to the marina ( I usually go the other way and head into town).  At this time of year there is not much going on.  In a few weeks all the boat slips will be occupied and the marina will be bustling with activity.

Weeping Cherry and Flowering Plum

Flowering trees are so pretty during this time of year.  I really enjoy looking at them.

My husband bought the flowering plum tree for me for Mother's Day many years ago.

Framed Piece # 1

Yesterday I picked up my newly framed cross stitch pieces.  I had three pieces framed.  They all have a different look and they all look great.  Michael's did a perfect job.

More Spring to Come...

This time of year is such a happy time of year.  Plants and trees are springing back to life and along with them, our spirits are lifted as well.  Everyday something new is sprouting, blooming and growing.

Happy Easter

My daughter came home from college for the weekend so I surprised her with a chocolate cake.
I tried a new recipie and it was fabulous.  The best chocolate cake ever!  I also made a strawberry tart.
It looks better than it tasted.  The cream is cream cheese, confectioner's sugar, pureed strawberries and almond extract.  The recipie called for quite a bit of confectioner's sugar which made it a bit too sweet for our tastebuds.  I won't be making it again.
