My First Quilt

After my son was born I decided that I was going to take a quilting class and learn how to quilt.  The class lasted for eight weeks.  Every week we had to sew two squares and the last two weeks were used to sew the whole quilt together.  I was the only one in the class who finished her quilt on time.  I think I was afraid that if I fell behind I wouldn't be able to figure out how to do the actual quilting, make the binding and sew it on.  This quilt is now 17 years old.   I have made only one other larger quilt since then.  I think it is time to start another one.

  1. Hi! - Amazing that we're from the same town, nice blog and I LOVE quilts, great job! ... a good friend makes art quilts, her blog is on my blog roll... check it out, her stuff is beautiful. Actually, we have some of her work in the store Fire & Rain in the old Holly Loft Building if you want to see it in person. Her blog is Vivika DeNegre Art Quilts.

Thanks for stopping by the blog, I'll follow along with yours!
