On one of my walks I came across this bench with flowers and I just couldn't resist taking some pictures.

The Scarf That Wasn't Meant To Be
I had this yarn for some time and wanted to crochet the scarf on the back. This was the week that I was going to accomplish this. So I thought.
After the first row, I liked what I saw, so I continued. After the second row, not so much.
The multicolored yarn was just too busy. It really detracted from the details of the pattern. The result was to unravel it. This is what the finished piece would have looked like. I think I am going to attempt it in black or white.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries
I bought these strawberries to pack in lunches. My daughter thought that covering them in chocolate was a better idea!

Yummy
What's better than homemade mac & cheese? Always delicious and comforting.
On the left is what it looks like when you take it out of the oven. On the right is the finished product. Once the preserves are spread over it, it brings the tart to life. This is so easy to make and it looks like a professional baked it.

N.Y.C.
Taken from the train going through Astoria, Queens.
Went into the city yesterday to see the last opera (Lulu) for the season. After that we walked down 9th Avenue where there was a street festival going on. Tons of vendors selling food, clothes, hats, etc.
Colorful resin magnets for 50 cents a piece.
Glass pendants for $3.00 each. Just too many to choose from.
Something for your sweet tooth.
After our walk we ate in the Kabooz Restaurant right in Penn Station.
The opera was great, the weather was great, the food was great. It was just an all around great day to be in the Big Apple!

Star Fruit
Star fruit is a juicy tropical fruit grown in Thailand and throughout Souteast Asia, Australia, South America, but also in Florida and Hawaii.
When ripe, it is yellow with some green. To cut the fruit you slice off the brown edge on each side. You also cut the crown off. Then you slice it crosswise to get the star shape. Now it is ready to eat.

The Time Has Come...
... to finish some projetcs... hopefully...
First in line are a pair of socks that I started sometime ago and lost interest in. This is only my second pair and I am not quite sure if knitting socks is really my thing.

Framed Piece # 3
This is the last piece of cross stitch that I had framed at Michael's.
What I like about about counted cross stitch so much is all the detail. It is quite time consuming, but the finished product is well worth it.
